Recent Events

Piano Extravaganza

Featuring local youth and adult talent on the piano, including a surprise mystery guest. Presented at Peace Lutheran Church on Sunday, Sept. 24.

Women of Song

Women of Song—a community choir of 40 women from the Twin Cities—presented a Spring Concert entitled “Earth Songs” at Trinity Lutheran Church, Watertown, on Sunday, April 23. The choirs sang an eclectic program of sacred and secular choral music celebrating the Earth and nature.

McInnis’ Kitchen and Watertown Choirs

In a collaborative partnership with Watertown-Mayer schools, a joint concert was performed on February 27, 2017 at the Watertown-Mayer Performing Arts Center. McInnis' Kitchen has become synonymous with the energy and spirited fun founded on the traditional music of Newfoundland, Ireland, Scotland, and the Canadian Maritimes.

The Kingery Family

The Kingery Family performed in Watertown, singing their lineup of gospel bluegrass music, often incorporating fiddle, patriotic, Americana and a capella. All proceeds went to support Freedom Farm Therapeutic Riding Center. Performed on August 23, 2016.

Crow River Radio Hour

This “celebration of small towns” is a fictional radio play which includes Americana musical numbers performed by local musicians, humorous commercials for local businesses, and fictional small town news. Performed on Saturday, January 9, 2016.

Land O Lake Boys Choir

This 32 voice all-boys Concert Choir tours each June throughout the United States and around the world. They also perform throughout the year in Minnesota and neighboring states. Concert was on Saturday, November 21, 2015.

Paint & Pub

Two sessions were held in August and November 2015 by artist Emily Victory, who guided participants (no experience was necessary) step-by-step in creating their own masterpieces. The sessions were held at Geneo's pizza where wine and food was available while particants painted. Sponsored by WAFAC.

The Church Basement Ladies—The Last Potluck Supper

The Church Basement Ladies in the final installment of the series! It’s 1979 and the day of the church's Centennial Celebration.  The church ladies reminisced about their lives through a series of fun-filled flashbacks and musical numbers as they sang and danced their way through the ages! On Monday, May 11, 2015.

December 3, 2:00 pmAlive & Kickin, Trinity Lutheran Church, Watertown. “Alive & Kickin” gives voice to seniors (cast members range in age from 65 to 92 years young) through personal story and popular song, empowering its members to entertain and enlighten multi-generational audiences. This highly inspirational group of spirited, charismatic seniors spread their musical message as they explore contemporary genres of music ranging from rock & roll to pop, gospel and Motown. The group, led by Ivey Award winning Director/Choreographer Michael Matthew Ferrell and co-creator and Musical Director Jason Hansen, has been welcomed into the professional world of the Twin Cities' musical theater scene at renowned theater spaces and tours around the state at various senior facilities. January 20, 7:00 pmCrow River Radio Hour, Watertown Primary School Auditorium. A repeat showing of a popular event. This is a fictional radio play done before a live audience that has been written and developed by Lee Windsperger. The show includes Americana-type musical numbers performed by local musicians, humorous commercials for area businesses that still exist and some that have gone away, fictional small town news and health reports, touching small town stories and much more. March 3, 7:00 pmLake Wobegon Brass Band, Performing Arts Center. The 30-member British-style brass band plays marches, classical music, competition test pieces, quasi-jazz and popular songs. Selections on the series will include conductor and composer Mike Halstenson's Fanfare on “Ode to Joy,” movements of John Ireland's A Downland Suite, Mike Serber's transcription of Howard Hanson's “Romantic” Symphony finale, the electric Malagueña, and a show stopping version of Paul McCartney's Live and Let Die. The LWBB uses standard British brass band instrumentation and is comprised of educators (music and otherwise), professional musicians, and several who have vocations outside of the musical world. Co-sponsored by the Anoka Brass Band Association, Inc. and Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Tickets: $10.00; call 952.955.0617.
